An Ohio State spokeswoman said the university's housing interim vice president for student affairs and chief housing officer has been suspended with pay while officials look into police allegations that he possessed crystal methamphetamine.
Authorities said Franklin County sheriff's deputies found a bag containing an ounce of the highly addictive drug while searching the Columbus home of Ronald Kochendoerfer.

Al Gore said he believes students are the next American heroes.
"These are not normal times," he said to a crowd of about 3,000 Sunday at the Schottenstein Center. "You must become America's third hero generation."
Gore said previous American "hero generations" were the founders of this country and the young people of World War II. He said he believes current environmental issues are as important as these past national trials.

The board voted 7-2 to expand the benefits package to incorporate employee health care benefits for domestic partners.

It seems as though Ohio State's interim assistant vice president for Student Affairs and director of housing might have been leading a double life.
Ronald Kochendoerfer, 41, serves as a senior administrator for Housing and Residence Education, whose responsibilities ranged from developing and administering living-learning programs, to training resident advisors on drug and alcohol policy and managing a $9 million fiscal budget.
Last Friday another side of the high-ranking official's life was uncovered when he was arrested and charged with possession of the highly-addictive drug methamphetamine, that was found by deputies during a search of his Short North home.
